Back in the 80s when I was in primary school, I never wanted to become a nurse or a teacher, no, I were to be a pharmacist. Not a bad choice as later on I would show a real interest in scientific studies. But my view on pharmacy did not involve any science or medicine at the time. I only wanted to brew potions (I couldn’t care less about pills). I made these very colourful mixtures by leaking the fillings of markers into a glass of water. The markers never survived but I had so much fun watching the colours drip, curl, make the most beautiful patterns and blend in eventually.
So I guess I chose the right carrier after all, as a designer I can play with colours every day.
For this Illustration Friday I got out the markers and got my hands dirty again. How I loved it.
